Frequently asked questions
How do I send large files for free?
Choose your files or a folder and add the email addresses of the people you are sending to. Then confirm your own email with a 6-digit code. There are no passwords. The Free plan covers up to 100 GB a month and 10 transfers a month. Each transfer can go to up to 10 people, and the files stay available for 1 or 3 days.
What is the largest file I can send?
On the Free plan a transfer can be up to 100 GB, within the 100 GB you can send each month. On Pro a transfer can be up to 1 TB. A single file can be as large as the transfer it is in. A transfer can hold up to 5,000 files on Free and 50,000 on Pro.
How long do files stay available?
On the Free plan you choose 1 or 3 days, and 1 day is the default. On Pro you choose 1, 3, 7, 14 or 30 days, and 1 day is the default. When a transfer expires, or when you delete it, the files are deleted.
Is PuckSend secure?
Files up to about 2 GB are fully scanned for malware before your recipients are told the transfer is ready. Larger video, audio and image files are checked against a list of known harmful files instead, and larger archives, programs and documents that cannot be fully scanned are not accepted. Everything is sent over encrypted HTTPS connections. A transfer can only be opened with its full link. The link stops working when the transfer expires, and the files are deleted at that point.
Do the people I send files to need an account?
No. Recipients open the link in their email and download the files. They do not need to sign up or sign in.
How much does PuckSend cost?
The Free plan costs nothing. Pro costs $20 a month, or £16 a month in the UK. It allows transfers up to 1 TB and up to 3 TB sent each month (fair use). You can send to up to 50 people at a time and keep files for up to 30 days. Enterprise limits are agreed with you through the contact form.
