Legal
PuckSend is a file transfer service run by Bard Group. We built it for people who move large files for a living, and we run it on a simple principle: your files belong to you and to the people you choose to send them to, not to us.
We don’t train AI on your content. We don’t sell your data. We don’t read or analyse the files you send, apart from the automated malware check that protects the people receiving them, and we don’t build profiles of you or of the people you send to.
Files are kept only for as long as a transfer is live. When a link expires, or when you delete a transfer, the files are deleted. We keep a short record of each transfer for 12 months so that we can deal with abuse reports and answer questions about what was sent and when, and then that record is deleted too. You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email, so there is no password for anyone to steal.
This page brings together everything that governs your use of PuckSend: our Privacy policy, our Terms of service and our Acceptable use policy. Between them they explain what information we collect and why, how long we keep it, who we share it with, what you agree to when you use the service, and what you may and may not send. We have written them in plain English so they are easy to read. If anything here is unclear, or you want to use any of your rights under UK data protection law, write to hello@pucksend.com and we will reply.
Privacy policy
Last updated: 4 November 2026
This explains what personal information PuckSend collects, why, how long we keep it and what your rights are.
Who is responsible
PuckSend is run by Bard Group. You can contact us at hello@pucksend.com.
What we collect
- Your email address, when you sign in.
- For each transfer you send: your email address, the email addresses of the people you send to, the optional title and the note you write, the names and sizes of the files, and the times it was sent, expires and was downloaded.
- The files themselves, until the transfer expires or you delete it.
- When someone downloads a file: the time, which file, a scrambled form of their IP address and the type of browser they used, to help us spot abuse. We do not keep the IP address itself.
- When you sign in: a sign-in cookie, a scrambled form of your IP address and the type of browser you used.
- If you pay: your plan and the state of your subscription. Your card details are handled by our payment provider. We never see them.
- Messages you send us through the Enterprise form or a report.
Why we use it
We use this information to run PuckSend: to sign you in, deliver your transfers, tell you when they are downloaded, take payment, keep the service secure and stop abuse, and answer you when you write to us.
If you use the Free plan, we also use your email address to send you marketing (see Emails we send).
We use your information because we need it to provide the service you signed up for, because we have a legitimate interest in keeping PuckSend secure and telling Free users about our products, or because the law requires it.
Emails we send
We send the emails the service needs: your sign-in code; the link to the people you send files to, which comes from youvegotmail@pucksend.com and is set to reply to you; a confirmation to you with the same link; a note when someone first downloads; and a reminder before a transfer expires if nobody has downloaded it.
Every email to a recipient shows who it is from and has a link to report the transfer.
If you use the Free plan, Bard Group also sends you marketing emails about our products and services, including PuckSend plans and Bard Group’s content, social and growth services. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time by writing to hello@pucksend.com.
We do not use the email addresses of the people you send files to for marketing.
How long we keep it
- Files are deleted when a transfer expires or when you delete it.
- The record of a transfer (your email, the recipients, the note and the title) is kept for 12 months after the transfer expires, then deleted.
- Your account is kept until you delete it. Deleting your account does not delete records of transfers that are still within the 12 months above.
- Reports about a transfer are kept for as long as we need them to deal with the report.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of trusted service providers to run PuckSend and take payments. They handle information only on our instructions and must keep it secure.
Some of them may handle information outside the UK. Where they do, it is protected by the safeguards UK data protection law requires.
We do not sell your information. We share it with the police or other authorities only where the law requires it.
Cookies and storage on your device
PuckSend sets one cookie, which keeps you signed in. It is needed for the service to work. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
We count page views and visits in a way that sets no cookies and does not follow you across other websites.
While an upload is running, your browser keeps the names and sizes of the files, and how far it got, on your device so an interrupted upload can carry on. It does not keep the files themselves or any link or code.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:
- tell you what we hold about you and give you a copy,
- correct anything that is wrong,
- delete your information, or limit how we use it,
- give you your information in a form you can reuse,
- stop using it where we rely on our own legitimate interests, and
- stop sending you marketing, at any time.
Contact and complaints
To use any of these rights, write to hello@pucksend.com.
If you are not happy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
Terms of service
Last updated: 4 November 2026
These terms apply when you use PuckSend to send or receive files. By using PuckSend you agree to them.
Who we are
PuckSend is run by Bard Group. You can contact us at hello@pucksend.com.
What PuckSend does
PuckSend lets you send large files to people by email. You choose the files, the people you want to send them to and how long the files stay available. Each person gets a link to download them.
When a transfer expires, or when you delete it, the files are deleted. PuckSend is for sending files, not for storing them. Keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose.
Your account
You sign in with your email address and a 6-digit code we email to you. There are no passwords. A Free account is created the first time you sign in.
You are responsible for what happens under your account, and for keeping access to your email secure. Tell us at hello@pucksend.com if you think someone else has used your account.
What you can send
You must have the right to send the files you upload, and what you send must follow our Acceptable use policy. You are responsible for the files you send and for the people you send them to.
Plans and payment
PuckSend has a Free plan and a paid Pro plan. Enterprise plans are agreed with us. The limits for each plan are on the Pricing page. Pro has fair use limits on what you send and store, as shown there.
Pro is a monthly subscription. Payments are taken by our payment provider. The price is shown in US dollars or in pounds sterling, depending on your country, when you check out. The subscription renews each month until you cancel it. You can manage or cancel it from your account, and a cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for.
Marketing emails on the Free plan
The Free plan is offered on the basis that we can send you marketing. If you use the Free plan, Bard Group will email you about our products and services, including PuckSend plans and Bard Group’s content, social and growth services.
You can opt out at any time: every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, or you can write to hello@pucksend.com. Opting out does not affect your account or your transfers.
We do not send marketing to the people you send files to because you sent them files. They receive marketing only if they sign up to PuckSend themselves.
Checking and removing files
We check uploaded files for malware before the people you sent them to are told. A file that fails the check is deleted and the transfer is blocked.
We may remove a transfer, block a file, or suspend or close an account if it breaks these terms or the Acceptable use policy, if we are required to by law, or if we need to protect the service or other people.
Availability
We aim to keep PuckSend running but we cannot promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may change or stop parts of the service. If we make a significant change to a paid plan we will tell you first.
Our responsibility to you
Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law.
We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss or damage that is not foreseeable.
PuckSend is for sending files, not storing them. We are not responsible for the loss of files you have not kept your own copy of.
If you use PuckSend for business, we are not responsible for loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption or loss of business opportunity.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed. If you keep using PuckSend after a change, you accept the new terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.

You must not send
- viruses or other malware, or anything built to damage or get into other people’s systems,
- child sexual abuse material, or any other content that is illegal in the United Kingdom,
- scams, phishing, or anything meant to trick people into handing over money or information,
- content that infringes someone else’s copyright or other rights,
- content that threatens, harasses or abuses people,
- other people’s personal information that you have no right to share, or
- unwanted bulk messages (spam).
You must not
- use PuckSend as a public file host, or to give the same files to the public at large,
- get around the limits on your plan, or use more than fair use allows,
- try to get into other people’s transfers or accounts, or probe or disrupt the service, or
- use automated tools to send or download at a scale that affects other people.
Reporting a transfer
Every download page and every email to a recipient has a link to report the transfer. We look at every report.
What we do
We check files for malware. If a file breaks this policy we can delete it, block the transfer, stop the same file being sent again, and suspend or close the account that sent it. Where the law requires it, we tell the authorities.
